Here is my blog
Tsebhi Dorho (Eritrean Chicken)
I am going to write about Eritrean food called Tsebhi derho (Eritrean chicken) and the recipes but before that I must introduce myself first.
My name is Sanaa, I come from Eritrea, I have been in New Zealand for two and a half years. My hobbies are listening to music, dancing and cooking. I would like to introduce the food of my country. I hope you will enjoy it.
Have you ever heard about Eritrean food? If you haven't, you should read my blog and you will know about it. I am going to tell you about the food that I cooked last weekend, it's in the picture. Here is the recipe.
Ingredients
Chicken cut in to 8 pieces
5 cups thinly chopped onion
1/2cup spiced butter
1/2cup berbere (chilli powder)
2 cloves garlic -crushed
1/2cup of water
1/2tsp salt to taste
6 boiled eggs- peeled
The Method
Put the chicken pieces in the lime water for an hour then start to chop the onion in to small pieces. After that put the chopped onion in a pot and simmer on low heat, then add the butter and cover the pot and continue to cook until its tender and light brown.
Add the remaining butter to the pot. After that add 1/2 cup of water and mix well. Then add the chicken pieces. Cover it for 30-40 minutes or until the chicken is tender, adding more water if necessary to keep the sauce from drying out.
When the chicken is tender, add salt to taste. Add the eggs and heat through.
I hope everyone will enjoy reading my blog. ^_^ &
